Bangkok Trip Day 1 part one

Wah finally we could go explore.
This was going to be an action filled day.
Of course must have breakfast first to gain energy.
Read bad reviews regarding the food in the hotel.
But it was not that bad. Edible lor.
After breakfast, we caught a cab to the touristy areas with all the places of interest. The cab driver was nice. He even tried to point out a few landmarks though we had trouble understanding him.
Soon we reached the national museum.
We wanted to join the free tour available on Thursday morning.
The museum guide is an English lady. She is a volunteer after studying Thai history and culture in Thailand. Her husband works in Bangkok too.
Anyway, she asked if we were here for the English tour or the Japanese tour. Previously, the Japanese guide had already approached us and asked if we were Japanese. Jam replied no....Jam looks like a Japanese.
Next, the English guide asked if we could follow her speed of speech and if we could understand her.
Warrao. I wanted to strangle her. Just because we are Asians does not mean we do not understand english.
Nevertheless, she was a good guide, explaining to us the exhibits for more than three hours.
Learnt a great deal about Thai history and culture. Which I shall not elaborate.
But a few interesting points.
The Buddha has straight fingers and toes, meaning they are of the same length.
The fingers are webbed too.
The Thais do not really pray, they show respect to the Buddha.
The dead is put into a container in a "wai" posture and then cremated after 100 days.
Ok ok enough of a few points.
Think i forgot to mention that the weather is very hot in Bangkok. We had to apply sunscreen frequently and fan ourselves with paper.
Sweat a lot and stink....
