april 21 around bath part two

more walking on the free tour. the buildings explained. old and new. about the facade being brick like or a single smooth surface without looking like bricks.the sweet shop. the sweets looked yummy. but too bad, by the time we made it back here later, the shop was closed! it closed at 5pm. we reached a few minutes after 5. so sad. no sweets to buy. sally lunn shop. oldest house in bath. famous for the sally lunn bun. we bought the bun on our way back. you will get to see the picture of the bun later.


orange road hotel. oldest hotel. named after the prince of orange.

hospital for treating ailments. with the spa water. centre of the square. palladian houses form a square.the circus. palladian houses in a circle. Number One was the first house to be built in the Royal Crescent, John Wood's masterpiece of Palladian design. palladian style has 5 storeys. cellar, ground floor, secon, third and attic. attic for the servants. cos its the hottest during summer and coldest in winter. Crescent cos the houses form a crescent shape. prestigious to live at crescent.
My lovely french meal at bistro papillon. for about 11 quids. yum.
H's main course. her starter was mussels. which was out of this world.
