Bangkok Trip Day 1 part two

After a morning at the national museum, we proceeded to the grand palace. Something farnie happened before we crossed the road to the entrance.
We saw Haagen Daz.
We started to calculate the exchange rate.
159/23= 50cents...
Duh we could not count. We bought a shake happily and savoured the taste. It was thirst quenching.
After we had purchased the entrance tickets which cost 250 baht each, I started thinking to myself, 250 baht is more than 10 sin dollars.
So the drink we bought just now cost more than 5 bucks. Gasp.
Well, we treated it as our lunch for the day.
As the name suggests, it is very grand and huge.
The highlight has to be the Emerald Buddha housed in Wat Phra Kaeo.
It is the most sacred image in Thailand.
It is believed that as long as the Buddha is safe in Thailand, Thailand will be free.
Another interesting point to note is that the Emerald Buddha has three sets of costumes. One for each season. The King will help to change the costumes.
We walked and we walked under the heat of the sun.
We were totally exhausted but still continued our "trek". Our aim was to make it to Wat Pho that day.
When we were on our way to Wat Pho, a man approached us and started chatting to us.
Asked where we were from, where we were going.
I replied him cos the guidebooks say Thai people are friendly.
Then he asked where we stayed.
We thought it strange that he was asking so many questions
Menu hastily said thank you and we walked away from him.
Next, we encountered another man.
This man was more aggressive. And followed us.
I was afraid he would suddenly grabbed us.
He said Wat Pho was somewhere else.
But we had already consulted the map and knew Wat Pho was right in front.
Wah think gals cannot read maps issit?
We ignored him and continued towards our destination.
Wat Pho is home to the reclining Buddha and a massage school
We being poor students could not afford a massage.
So sad....We were so tired.
