KL trip part two

29 April. We started the day off with a good dim sum brunch. Saved $$ since breakfast and lunch combined. We set off for the dim sum place near fajar in two taxis. The taxi i was on arrived at the destination first. So we stood by the roadside and waited. There was a bunch of guys near us who had alighted from a bus. They were hockey players. An Indian guy was shouting out some numbers. I did not pay any attention and chatted with the rest of the gals. Later, the next cab arrived and the guys said that the bunch of hockey players was trying to pick us up! The numbers were their phone numbers and they were singaporeans. The guy kept shouting +65..... There was a cute guy among the hockey players though.

The dim sum was very yummy. Cheap and good. One of the best meals i had on the trip. The shrimps in the dumplings were fresh and crisp. The bean paste sesame ball was the tastiest one i ever had. The outer covering was crispy and the bean paste was not those super sweet kind. The chicken feet were great too. I could go on and on about the food.

After brunch, we walked to the train station (quite a distant and the weather was hot). I had truly become an auntie by using my umbrella. We had finally reached our destination. View from the platform:
The train system is pretty complicated. Changing trains requires one to walk out of the station building to another. Think there are a few train operators. We changed trains and continued our journey to Midvalley Megamall. My train tix. It's similar to the farecard that we used to have in singapore.

Shopping at Megamall is like shopping in Suntec. The prices are about the same. Nevertheless, i must still buy something. So, i bought a pair of shoes from vincci and a t-shirt from factory outlet store. Not much to buy in my opinion. Spent money on food instead. Tried a cafe and the cakes were not very fantastic. The tiramisu was too dry. To think that it looked delicious sitting in the display window. On the contrary, the not-so-yummy-looking apple cheesecake was much better. Looks are deceiving! Money was also spent on a jap dinner at sushi king. Do not be deceived by the word "king" cos the food is nowhere near fit-for-king standard. Yikes.

Initially we planned to go chinatown after dinner. But we were all too tired and decided to head home for a rest before we hit the club. We slacked and watched princess diaries 2. At nine plus, we called for two cabs. The cabs took an hour plus to reach! We should have just walked to the main road and hailed a cab.

Another surprise lay in wait at zouk. The bouncer asked for IC to ascertain that we are above 18. Three of us (including yours truly) did not bring our IC out. Therefore, we were barred from entering. Disappointed, we took the cab back and had a mi goreng party with beer while the rest partied on.
