explore 5 July

We were brought back to the hotel at 7 plus in the morning. Off we went to have breakfast. Porridge at a eating place. The hotel had issued us the breakfast coupon the night before. We tried findin the place for breakfast within the hotel. Thought that breakfast would be served by the hotel.

After breakfast, we explored the alishan trails. The signboards were pretty good. Showed us our current location and where we could go. We could go in two directions. The direction we chose was mainly uphill. We realised that a bit too late. Were huffin and puffin all the way up. The first tree we saw was this tree which was supposed to look like an elephant. Can you make out the trunk and the ears. Use a bit of imagination ah. Near it was the three generation wood. One growing after another. Next we passed by a school. I was wondering where the children attended school. Education is important.
As we walked further, we came to a museum. Too bad the museum was closed for renovation. So I just took a photo of it. All the photos are small sized cos they were taken using my phone camera. My camera batt had nearly gone flat. Wanna conserve energy.

A photo i took at a clearing.

The tree spirit monument commemorating ancient trees felled in 1936. Built by the Japanese to appease the spirits in the trees.
One of the giant trees on the giant trees trail. Many giant trees. All of them labelled. Example tree 18. This was where we were climbing uphill.
We could see the zhongzheng village in the distant (see the white part among the green?).

The sister ponds. This is the jie jie (elder sister). It looks very beautiful in winter. Saw a winter photo in the hotel.

The mei mei (younger sister) pond.

It was so misty when we got back to the hotel.

The alishan forest railway. Very bumpy ride. But could still fall asleep. By the time we reached chiayi, it was already 5 pm. About twenty min before we caught the train back to taipei. I thought we migh have missed the train as the next train to arrive at the platform indicated a later time. We asked a train officer and he told us our train was late. We bought the second cheapest train ticket. Mich suggested that the lateness could be due to the cheaper train.

Sunset view from the train. All sunsets look beautiful. By the time we were back in taipei, it was 10 plus. We checked into the hotel, dumped our stuff and went ktv. Ktv queen finally made it to partyworld ktv in taipei.

The TV screen was huge. The remote control was not user friendly though. Din know how to use it. Ended up pressing the song selection from the keyboard. Could not learn how to sing new songs too since i could not find the A/D button. Or everyone who comes to ktv in taipei knows how to sing all the songs? Anyway, not very cheap from 11 to 2 am. Came up to about 20 plus per person. But it was an experience. The ktv facilities occupied the whole building. Amazing. Even had toilet in each room. I din see the toilet and went out to the counter staff to ask about it. So paiseh. Then the mike had disposable mike covers. More hygienic. Even if kissed the mike also no prob. I wanna k more in singapore.

Think the eng-port match was on . So i even watched the world cup.
