Bangkok trip day three
It was the weekend. So of course must go Chatuchak weekend market.
Took a cab there. Must take cab if many frens cos very cheap.
Cheaper than taking trains.
The taxis can squeeze as many people as you like. No problem.
We walked around Chatuchak but din find any good bargains.
The guidebooks say that u get very good bargains.
Yeah the best bargain is birkenstock shoes at 199 baht. around 8 plus sin dollars.
After loitering around the entire morning we decided its time to go somewhere else.
Mah Boon Krong here we come.
Another shopping centre.
A place similar to orchard road.
Happening for teens.
Food time. Think was three plus and we still had not had lunch.
Went to the food court to fill our stomachs.
Sell very chinese food. Got pig's organs soup, fishball noodles.
We ate tom yum kung. Our first official thai food.
Shopping again.
But then no good bargains.
We missed pratunam.
So we quickly left for pratunam.
We walked there cos traffic jam.
We were totally desperate to find cheap buys.
The wholesale market was closing again by the time we reached there.
Menu and Jam grabbed some bargains and we left.
Dinner time. Since we were luggin our barang barang, we took a cab back to the hotel to deposit the stuff.
This was not the ordinary cab.
It was a tuk tuk.
A motorcycle plus trishaw.
Most exciting trip of all.
Ride was fast, windy and bumpy.
We took tuk tuk cos no cab wanna send us back again. Maybe this time its night time and wanna charge more. We bargained with the tuk tuk driver too. Paid 140 baht. 10 baht discount. Still a discount mah
We din wanna walk far for dinner. Thinking that kuki tei might be still open, we popped by and had a look.
It was closing.
So we walked further and further.
There's a good thai restaurant near CP towers. Called Bua.
Could not find the place and ended up eating at thai thai restaurant.
Too tired. Just ordered and ate.
The food was not too bad.
The most hilarious incident was about to take place when we strolled around the night market.
There was this guy who wanted to charge us 950 baht for birkenstock. (remember it only cost 199?)
We stared at him speechless.
Then i pointed my finger at him and shook it... No no no.....
Menu said chatuchak only 180.
He was a bit embarrassed and agreed to sell at 180.
He explained he thought was our first day in Bangkok.
And wanted to rip us off.
Like the westerners.
Thankfully we knew our prices.
