9 March 07 part one from Paddington to Hotel
The passengers and the luggage all fit together in the same compartment. Passengers get into the cab. Then cab driver helped to carry luggage on board. The roads were quiet since it was stil early. Next question was to tip/not to tip? We read guide saying that cab drivers should be tipped 10%. So we gave 6.50 for 5.70 ride. That should cover.
The reception at Amber Residence was closed. So we called the caretaker. The guy H had been corresponding with regardin accommodations. He was in his sleepwear. He looked very different later when at work. Professional looking in office wear. As our room was not ready to be moved into, we dumped our luggage and decided to explore the neighbourhood. No shops were open yet. The chilly wind surely woke us up though. The BA flight was so uncomfortable with the little legspace. Din really had a good rest on the flight. Tossed and turned.

Selfridge. Cant afford anything. Expensive clothers. But look at the beautiful window display.

Basically we just walked the down Baker Street and Oxford Street. Window see-ing. Since shops were still closed.
