9 March 07 part one from Paddington to Hotel

In the dark we arrived in Paddington. The heathrow express takes people from the airport to Paddington. It costs 15.50 pounds. Later i found out we could have just taken the cab directly from the airport to our hotel and it would have been cheaper. Well, so much for saving money. They say all the newbies take the heathrow express.... See the heathrow express clearly now on the right. time was about 6.15 am. Early early morning. No picture of the cab. So i attempted to piece together the diagram.

The passengers and the luggage all fit together in the same compartment. Passengers get into the cab. Then cab driver helped to carry luggage on board. The roads were quiet since it was stil early. Next question was to tip/not to tip? We read guide saying that cab drivers should be tipped 10%. So we gave 6.50 for 5.70 ride. That should cover.

The reception at Amber Residence was closed. So we called the caretaker. The guy H had been corresponding with regardin accommodations. He was in his sleepwear. He looked very different later when at work. Professional looking in office wear. As our room was not ready to be moved into, we dumped our luggage and decided to explore the neighbourhood. No shops were open yet. The chilly wind surely woke us up though. The BA flight was so uncomfortable with the little legspace. Din really had a good rest on the flight. Tossed and turned.
Some sights we saw:

Parking spaces to let??? Can rent parkin space!

Road that we passed. All the buildings looked lovely.

Selfridge. Cant afford anything. Expensive clothers. But look at the beautiful window display.Another beautiful window display.

Basically we just walked the down Baker Street and Oxford Street. Window see-ing. Since shops were still closed.
