Pirates!

Pirates was the theme of the company's dnd. In conjunction with the theme, there was a treasure hunt in the afternoon prior to the dinner. My team was out to win. We tried very very hard and ran very very hard too. It was a close race to the finish (for second place cos the first team had completed the race in record time). Three teams (including us) were at the last checkpoint. What a nail-biting moment! We had to finish the crossword puzzle and solved the riddle. All three teams solved it at the same moment and started to run to the checkpoint. The beachtram happened to be some distance in front and all the teams ran for their life, to hitch a ride. All three teams made it on board. When the tram stopped, all the three teams jumped off and dashed to the finishing line. I thought there was no hope liao since team 2 had slowed down and started walking. I started to walk too. But YH did not give up and had reached the finishing line. She ran back to tell us there was still a chance. By then, it was too late. Team 2 had beaten us. It appeared that team 1 was short of one member and could not be declared the winner. Sigh, we should have run faster. Moral of the story is: Do not give up hope, fight till the last min.

Was lookin forward to the buffet dinner by rasa sentosa. Supposed to b quite ex. The food was not that fantastic. But the ambience was good. Lovely sunset view by the sea. Like my ideal beach wedding. Aaaaah. A few of my colleagues had dressed up as pirates. So sporting. Most of the people were just beachy-looking. As usual, i did not win anything at the lucky draw. Just not so lucky. Sigh.

We then adjourned to km8 near tanjung beach. another disappointment. cos the club deejay was off. only chill-out music available. so sedate and totally unhappening. cannot dance. sad. wanna chong leh.

Back at the chalet, the guys had conked out. Due to the massive effort put forth at winning the race in the afternoon. The girls did not do much either. Watched a bit of tv and slept (sardines style on the bed). There were five of us. This was a chalet where i did not stay up all nite and eat titbits. Cos everyone was too tired liao. Next time perhaps.....

My stomach has shrunk?

Yikes disappointed with my dismal performance during the kuishin bo buffet on wed. Paled in comparison with my previous eating feat. Must have been the bao i ate at 4 pm. Spoilt my appetite completely. Curse of the meat bao. Ate so late cos there was no time to have a proper lunch. Busy trying to decipher the tutorial questions that we were going through in the afternoon. By the time the tutorial ended, i was famished and had to eat something. So the bao came into the picture to satisfy my stomach's rumblings.

The rest of my buffet pals did not fare any better too. Ha we should just give up on buffets. Perhaps, i am getting old and my metabolism rate has declined. My body is protesting against the food overload. Good thing too, otherwise i will just binge and grow fatter. I cant resist japanese food. slurp. However, the ladies' nite buffet is only for two hours. Due to the popularity of the buffet? Or due to people who rushed and grabbed the lobsters at each bell chime? The last time we were there, a group of people practically jumped out of their seats when the bell chimed. They had more than three servings of lobsters! We managed to get some of the specials for this dinner. An improvement from the last time when we did not attempt to queue up at all. Mich even got both the lobster and mochi ice cream. good job!

His back

Watchin his back gives me a sense of happiness.
Just contented to see him from afar.
Being able to do things for him is enough even though he may not appreciate them.
Slowly, pain replaces the happiness.
Tiring to be the one watchin his back while he watches someone else's.
To see him or not?
To forget or not?
To give up or not?

That is the situation in a korean drama i watched. Very sad for the gal. But it seems that the love will be reciprocated in the end. Will continue watchin to find out the ending.

Thanks Buddies!

Had a smashing birthday celebration with my dear uni buddies. Thanks once again for organizing and meeting up with me. Nice to see all of you and catch up on latest happenings. Congrats on graduating and becoming a full-fledged pharmacist.

The dinner place was changing appetites at marina square, kindly suggested by ming. At first, dawang thot the place was called hanging appetites. When they walked past this restaurant (sign board read:Changing Appetites), she pronounced matter-of-factly "Hanging appetites". It was hard to see the red letters. Joc used to think it was hanging ppetites. Time to sharpen the signboard?

The food was not too bad. Quite huge servings of food. My teriyaki beef burger was gigantic and served with salad and fries. Though the seasoning not really that teriyaki. The bread part of the burger was very cripsy, as agreed by jam. This dish was labeled wow (highly recommended) but not that wow in terms of taste. Wow for serving size bah. Cos I had no space for dessert.

Here's a look at the rest of the food besides the burgers:

Joc's curry chicken served in an aladdin lamp. Nice presentation. She said the rice tasted like glutinous chicken rice.

Estee and her fish n chips. We were very impressed by the size of the fish served. Can see it's huge??

Near the beginning of the meal, I opened the present they got me. A sling bag!!! Have been wanting a sling bag. Ooooh. It can match my shiny silver shoes.

A look at my silver shoes: See how shiny they are? Can be glamour gal with silver shoes and gold bag.

Like the cat birthday card too. I love cats. They are so adorable.

Thanks for the good company and the presents.

Keep the friends

As the years go by, I find that the number of close friends i have actually diminishes. The number of good friends that I have made in sec sch, jc and uni remain unchange. But this group of friends will slowly be lost one by one, if I am not careful. It takes two to tango. In a friendship, there is an active party and a passive party. So this active friend will try to arrange for outings. When this friend gets lukewarm response, he/she will just give up organising anything. Eventually, the passive friend is lost. One will love to keep friends, but it is hard at times. No time to meet up and then postponing it till infinity. It is kinda sad.
To all my good friends out there, thanks for giving me all the possible hot dates. Do stay in touch.

Dating woes

Been bugged by dating issues recently. Last week, i had a couple of dates with frens and ended up not goin home for dinner. So my bro actually asked me if i was dating. The answer is no obviously. No hot dates with possible other half. Kinda sad.

Then the same thing happened again this week. My bro told me my ma said that if i was dating, she will be very happy for me. Er wait long long for now. Guess my ma is kinda worried for me. I mean it's good if there is a significant other to share your joy and sadness. But it has come to a point where being single is an ok situation for me. If fate permits, we will eventually meet....

Today, my aunt asked if i was seeing anyone. Gosh, why is everyone asking this question recently??? So exasperating.
