Incident of the tongs

I was at a bakery check-out counter. There were two customers before me, customers A and B. Customer A dropped the tongs which were used to pick up the bread. Customer B picked it up and returned it to the cashier. The cashier, to my horror, just left it on the counter and did not clean it. She then proceeded to pack customer B's bread (not with the dirty tongs). The queue at the cashier was growing longer. So along came cashier B. Cashier B picked up the dirty tongs and wanted to pack the last piece of customer B's bread in.
I shouted, "Wait a min!"
Cashier B looked at me and asked,"What's wrong?"
I stared at her, dumbfolded as she had already used the dirty tongs to pack in Customer B's bread.
Cashier B,"Is this your bread? I pack wrongly ah?"
I just shook my head.
Then, Cashier B wanted to use the dirty tongs to pack my bread.
Immediately, I said,"Er, it dropped onto the floor just now."
Cashier stared at me and packed my bread using another pair of tongs.
After I had stepped out of the bakery, I still could not believe I shouted. But why didn't customer B say anythings? He liked extra ingredients on his bread?!
I guessed everyone just mind his own business nowadays. I must have behaved like a weirdo....

I really shouldn't go out

Goodness. I have been spending so much money and I haven even started earning a salary. Very very bad.
Went to the metro sale at expo with my ma. Usually this kind of sale has nothing much to buy. The clothes are quite old and the prices of other items like shoes are not much cheaper. Some of the shoes are actually priced the same at other retail stores (saw them at OG). But gals, I guess everyone agrees that the best things to buy are the lingerie. Definitely at a lower price. Of course, this is wat I bought too. Plus a pair of jeans and umbrellas. The umbrellas were going for only 80 cents each.
After the not so eventful shopping at expo, we went over to OG. Last day of sale there cos the june hols for students are over. Back to school. This is really scary. I got three bags from here. Erm, buy two get one free=three!! Never mind, I consider it a good deal. But I really shouldn't go out. If I don't go out, see no evil and I won't buy anything.

Please do not queue

Wanted to go overseas but no money. So ended up going across the causeway with my brother. We took bus 160 from Jurong East.
Me: Aiyah so few people, no need to stand in queue wan.
Bro: Go queue up lah.
Me: No need. Really. I only queue when there are many people. Now no need.
(Then i sat down on a bench in behind the queue)
Later, a bus 160 pulled into the lane for another bus.
I looked at the bus driver and asked using my eyes if the bus was for boarding. He nodded and waved his hand in a come board the bus way.
So I stood up and walked towards the bus. I looked back and asked people in the queue to follow me. I was the first to board the bus. Haha, so really no need to queue wan.
Soon, we were in JB. After passing through the malaysian customs, we were not sure what to do. We saw some people waiting along the roadside. We waited as well.
Bus 160 came along and the bus driver asked if anyone was taking it to the bus terminal in kotaraya. We were the only two people to board the bus. Quite weird, we thought to ourselves. The bus terminal is near a shopping complex called plaza kotaraya. This place sells mainly textile. Nothing to buy.
Since we did not want to take a taxi further up, we walked around the customs area and went into city square. It looks like a singapore shopping centre. There is popular bookshop, jeanyip, jantzen, bata.....plus singapore tourism board booth saying uniquely singapore. Therefore, we did not buy anything on this trip except durian cakes....

hard work will lead to success?

Just thinking out loud. Will being hardworking really lead to success? I always feel that if I try hard enough, I can achieve my goals. Cos I do not feel that I am a genius. But there are really geniuses around right? So will hard work compensate? There are times when I did try hard but I did not obtain what I had in mind. Is it because others were working harder? Whenever I give my tuition kids homework, they will seem to be in agony. Yeah I know homework sucks but subjects like Maths require practice. Practice makes perfect. That's what I always tell them. U will get the hang of it after practising more questions. The format is the same. Must stay positive.

SO3A koolklass outing

It's been such a long time since I attended a JC class outing. So I made it this time round. Supposed to meet at Dhoby Ghaut at 7pm. I was already hungry when I left the house.
Lo and behold. I was the first one there. Decided to visit the toilet first. Loo Loo must definitely go loo. After the toilet trip, there was still no one. Maybe its the new NEL station control? I sms the class rep who was the organiser of the event. It's the old mrt station control. So I was at the right place.
Soon, Carol aka (XY) turned up. So nice to see her again. She din change much. Still the XY I know. Her event of the month is visiting her -in-laws. Meet the parents session. I still cannot believe she is engaged. Cos young people nowadays tend to marry later. Congratulations.
Then, Mr Fok arrived. He is making a mobile game with his friends. Cool right? Seeing your brainchild come alive is an exciting process. Jia you!!! This lucky guy also got to travel to hongkong, japan and the US. I only made it to Bangkok this hols. Lack of funds....Who wanna sponsor?
At 7.20pm, the class rep appeared. Aiyah he was late. But he was forgiven cos he made this outing possible. Thank yous. The medicine people having a three-week break. A real break. Whenever there is a break during term time, it's for study purposes. So this time round, must enjoy yourselves to the fullest.
The four of us ate at Fish N Co. The only food I really like there is the seafood platter. But since I dun think anyone was keen on sharing, I ordered mussels penne in garlic and lemon cream sauce. The food took a long time to be served. Mabbe they forgot our orders? My food was the first to arrive. The serving looked small but was actually quite filling. Think must be due to the cream. Fattening but nice. Ha things i like to do-eat and then complain about getting fat. Bleh. They got Carol's order wrong. Ah, minus marks for service. Goodness, i already minus marks when we had to request for plain water. Thought that should be the first thing to be presented on the table???!!
After filling our stomachs, we waited for WS (the tall Giraffe) and ah gene (the buaya) to join us. Ah gene finally appeared. He was doing sales at Robinson Centrepoint, sellling men's clothes. Since he was the buaya, mr fok commented why he neva sell ladies' clothes. Eh, I will find it weird for guys to sell ladies' wear. Shoes perphaps bah.
Wanted to take foto. I brought a digicam but alas, silly me forgot to check the batt before leaving the house. The batt was exhausted!!! Wah wasted my effort. So sad. No fotos, sorree.
We met WS at PS. Sat in delifrance with just an order of pepsi. Ha really thick-skinned. WS is doing labwork, some project in school during the hols. Yeah, so that's the updates for now. I know emilyk will read. So this is for you....

The karaoke queen hits the high notes again at kbox. This time round she sang with her art n philo fren. They had a great time singing their hearts out. It was supposed to be from 11-2pm, the time belt which is the cheapest. They sang and they sang. The staff came to settle the bill before 2pm. After that, they continued to sing. Lalalalala....They sang until they almost lost their voices. Cos the staff did not come and stop them. Eventually at around 4pm, they decided to stop and go makan. Yay, makan time!!!

Service standards at diff branches of G2000

I was so mad. We had been deceived by a trainee staff, Vincent, at the G2000 outlet at Shaw House. Warrao, waste our time and strength walking around. The story goes like this:
I accompanied my brother to Orchard to shop for a blazer. When we were at Shaw House, We saw a promotion for a suit (buy blazer get pants free deal). So my brother asked if there was size X (dunno if guys are conscious of their waistline. I better refrain from saying it). The trainer, Vincent, checked and said no. He continued to say there was one size bigger and smaller. My brother decided to try the one which was one size bigger but it was very loose. Vincent said we could try other branches, like Ngee Ann City and Wisma. I asked if it was possible to check with other branches by phone. Immediately, he replied,"No. The other branches are very busy. Very hard to get through." I was very persistent and insisted on him making the phone call. He supposedly called and came back with the information that he was unable to get through to Ngee Ann City G2000 but the one at Wisma did not have the size we wanted.
Ok. Fine. We walked over to Ngee Ann City. The trainee was very helpful. He offered to check with other branches without us asking when there was no available stock in the store. I tried to be helpful and said that the Vincent at Shaw House claimed that Wisma did not have the stock. So this trainee (I am unable to name him as there was no name on the nametag) called PS and reserved a suit for us. Thank you so much.
While we were walking back to the MRT station, I suggested we just popped into Wisma G2000 since it was on the way. Surprise, surprise. The size we wanted was available!!! I really wonder if Vincent actually called just now. What a sickening a******. What's his problem? If he does not like to serve customers, then he should just pack up and go home.

Ah...cannot go out

Goodness. I really shouldn't step out of the house. It's the Great Singapore Sale. Everytime I go out, I will spend $$. Yeah doing my part contributing to the economy.
I went down to school to pick up my transcript and cca cert. The internal shuttle bus took quite some time to arrive cos it's the hols. After I had gone to osa, I decided to walk to the university hall to collect my transcript. Din feel like waiting for the bus. It was such a hot day and the destination suddenly seemed very far away. I sweat like a dog...
When my business in school had been accomplished, I took 96 down to clementi. Wanted to see if there was anything worth buying. I bought bubble tea. Yummy. Been a long time since I last drunk it. Menu, I know you will miss bubble tea in India.
I really wanted to buy something, so I decided to catch the free shuttle bus to IMM. But I did not know where to board. I waited for the bus at the opposite side of the road which was the drop-off point!!! There was this couple who asked the uncle where to board the bus. I was a distance away from them and din hear the conversation. So I acted cool and followed the couple from behind. Yay, I boarded the bus successfully.
At IMM, I bought a top from bossini. My second purchase from bossini within a week.30% off storewide. Good bargain must buy.
Then, I took the free shuttle bus to Jurong Point. More shopping!!! Something happened on the bus though. While I was trying to cap my water bottle, my butter fingers were at work. For some unknown reason, the cap flew out of my hands and landed somewhere I could not see. So paiseh. I acted nonchalent and continued drinking from my bottle. Had to drink up the whole bottle lor.

Din wanna shop

All thanks to Joc that we walked into This Fashion.
I was staring at the clothes as we walked past the place.
Then Joc said,"Ha, thot you would wanna go in leh."
"Yeah, you are tempting me. Okie, let's go in!" I replied.
That was how we ended up in This Fashion.
Honestly, I had no intention of spending $$.
Wanted to save.
But too many temptations.
So tried a few pants and skirts.
I really liked a pair of brown striped pants but no size!!!
Sigh.
In the end bought a white skirt which is not translucent.
Yippee. Hard to find one like that.
When we were making payment, Joc asked if I ever considered being a This Fashion member.
Then, I filled in the form, paid ten bucks and become a member.
ThereI claimed my first 10% discount.
Next time if you need anything from This Fashion, call me.

Miss Universe Live

I am watching Miss Universe.
Okie i wont spoil the show and actually post the results.
Anyway, the results are not out yet.
They really look like barbie dolls.
So pretty and absolutely fat-free.
It's weird that each year almost the same countries make it to top 15.
The other candidates not the ideal beauty meh?
Miss Indonesia made it to top 15 but she got such an ugly costume. So totally different from the rest of the contestants.
She looked like a peacock.
I was also wondering if the top 15 already knew they would be in the top 15. cos the gowns they wore in the next round fitted them well. or their sizes are the same? the perfect size?
Miss V screwed up the question and answer round. But she is pretty.
Dunno if she will win any place?
